Expected to begin operations by late 2026, this project is backed by \u20ac110 million from Japanese investors and \u20ac106 million from the French government.\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fdc60af elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fdc60af\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"container text-container page-press-release\"><h4 class=\"p1\"><strong>A key investment to strengthen Europe\u2019s rare earth value chain<\/strong><\/h4><p class=\"p1\">The Caremag facility will <strong>recycle 2,000 tonnes of magnets and refine 5,000 tonnes of mining concentrates annually<\/strong>, positioning itself as Europe\u2019s first large-scale rare earth recycling facility and the largest western producer of purified heavy rare earth. With an output of 600 tonnes of Dysprosium and Terbium oxides &#8211; <strong>representing around 15% of the global production<\/strong> &#8211; and 800 tonnes of Neodymium and Praseodymium oxides, Caremag will play a vital role in supplying key materials for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and advanced electronics.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cfb2eb8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cfb2eb8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"container text-container page-press-release\"><h4 class=\"p1\"><strong>Strategic international support drives the project forward<\/strong><\/h4><p class=\"p1\">This ambitious industrial project is made possible through the joint support of <strong>France and key Japanese partners<\/strong>. The Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (\u201cJOGMEC\u201d) and the private firm <strong>Iwatani Corporation<\/strong>, through their joint venture, \u201c<strong>Japan France Rare Earth Company<\/strong>\u201d, have announced today their decision to invest up to <strong>\u20ac110 million in equity and shareholder loans <\/strong>in the Caremag plant. This investment includes a long-term supply agreement to provide Japan with heavy rare earth oxides.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">The French government is playing a major role in this investment, with financial support provided from the outset in the form of subsidies and repayable advances granted under the France Relance and France 2030 project calls, as well as a Green Industry tax credit granted in July 2024, totaling \u20ac106 million.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Finally, the support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and TotalEnergies through its Induslacq platform, along with equity contributions from Carester and its employees (21 of whom are shareholders in Caremag), complete this financing.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6a59333 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6a59333\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"container text-container page-press-release\"><h4 class=\"p1\"><strong>An industrial unit integrating the best environmental practices<\/strong><\/h4><p class=\"p1\">Looking towards the future, the Caremag plant will create 92 direct jobs, meet the highest environmental standards and leverage Artificial Intelligence to optimize production.<\/p><p class=\"p1\"><em>\u201cCaremag will incorporate patented cutting-edge technologies designed to reduce CO\u2082 emissions while minimising water consumption and ensuring the absence of liquid effluents.
